Working for the Mouse

*Disclaimer* the next few posts will be frequent and long because I am trying to catch up because this blog is like my new journal, so read at your own risk!

One of the reasons I even started a blog in the first place was so that I could document my exciting time working in Orlando, Florida for Walt Disney World! I got accepted into the “Disney College Program”, a paid internship where you get to come and work and live in sunny Florida at the happiest place on earth! Haha.

They have kept me pretty busy so I will try to recap on everything. Well, I applied in the winter while I was on my off semester at home working, and even that was an extensive process. I had to submit an online evaluation, have a phone interview, watch a bunch of videos explaining the program, and answer a ton of questions online as well. Then a couple months later I found out that I was accepted while I was checking my email at my job down in Old Towne Alexandria. Part of me was excited and part of me was completely unsure of even going. I was really excited when I was applying but when it became a reality, I freaked out a little. The idea was nice, but I wasn’t sure if I could handle being completely thrown out of my element and out of my nice “bubble” in VA/Idaho and go out into the “real world”. I must be crazy to go live in Florida for 4 ½ ish months where I don’t know the area at all, I don’t know anyone, I don’t exactly know what job I will be doing where I get there, or even who I will be working with or living with. Not to mention that I will have to miss all the major holidays with my family and work on Christmas. Honestly I wasn’t even 100% sure that I was going to go through with this until I bought my (one-way) plane ticket 3 days before I had to be there. Anyways, I must be crazy because I actually did go through with it and now I am here working for the biggest entertainment company in the world and living in Florida.
